Family Portraits – a Special Gift

At the end of last year, I was contacted by Linda from the US. She was recommended to me by her friend in Aberdeen, Karen, who has been a client of mine for a long time. Linda wanted a voucher sent to a friend celebrating a milestone Birthday. We communicated by text and email and a personalized voucher was proofed and approved by Linda before I posted it to Susan. Linda also paid for a bottle of champagne for the family to have at the studio session.

The studio session was a lot of fun, with bubbles and music. I took a range of group photographs – posed, arranged groups, and some more fun shots. There were shots with props and birthday balloons etc. that I have excluded so I do not give away the age.

As well as taking all the family, the birthday girl was taken with her husband, and her children and grandchildren were photographed too. During a family portrait shoot, we can take as many group options as required, all without obligation.

Everything is taken in colour, but we always give the option of black and white.

During the viewing, we carefully compare images and if someone is better in another image, we can “swap heads”. In this group, everyone’s expression was good apart from the little girl so we took her from another image.

The viewing is a very important part of the portrait experience. Apart from carefully comparing and choosing the best images, we can show them the actual size on our screen. We can then go a stage further and show you how they will look on your wall (to scale) with mounts, frames, or in one of our frameless finishes (canvas, aluminum, or acrylic).

Susan selected wall portraits in black and white, and colour. We showed them to scale to ensure that the correct size and style was chosen. Wall portraits are a focal point of your room, and should be chosen as carefully.

BNI WORKS

I featured this shoot at BNI.

Last year the members of BNI Scotland North reported income in excess of £15.4 million in new business!

Globally, the 270 000 members of BNI passed over $16 billion in business. In the UK, it was £520 million, and in Scotland North, £19.2 million, up nearly 3 ½ million on 2018.

One element of the meeting is that each member has 60 seconds to let the other members and visitors know about their business, and ask for a specific referral. Every week, I show one recent assignment or a selection of the work done the week before.
