Framing Kirkwood’s Timber Frame

In the world of construction, precision, timing, and communication are everything.

When Kirkwood Timber Frame required professional photography and video coverage of two major projects for Sanctuary Scotland and CHAP Construction, they turned to aberdeenphoto.com for our proven ability to document progress while elevating a brand’s visual story.

Across two locations—Beech Grove Homes in Greenock and Craighill — we combined drone cinematography, timelapse recording, and high-resolution photography to transform construction updates into powerful marketing assets.

Project One: Beech Grove Homes, Duncan Street, Greenock

On 30 April 2025, we joined the team at Beech Grove Homes in Greenock to capture the assembly of large timber-frame structures.

This Sanctuary Scotland development required both technical accuracy and visual clarity, as the footage would be used internally for project updates and externally for promotional material.

Our brief was clear: document the on-site operations with a focus on roof truss installation by crane, while also providing aerial views to show site scale and progress.

Using a combination of drone imagery and Nikon Z9 ground cameras, we delivered a complete visual record—from wide establishing shots to detailed close-ups of craftsmanship and teamwork.

To complement these perspectives, we also deployed four dedicated timelapse cameras, providing extensive coverage that highlights the efficiency, precision, and advantages of modern timber frame construction.

Project Two: Craighill Development

Just a few months later, on 8 July 2025, our team visited Kirkwood Timber Frame’s Craighill development for CHAP Construction.

The goal was to showcase the project’s progress through drone photography and detailed on-site documentation.

We returned on 15 July to capture the dramatic roof lift operations, blending precision engineering with striking visual storytelling.

Our approach combined marketing-grade imagery with technical documentation—ideal for client reports, PR content, and long-term project archives.

Each image balances the raw authenticity of a construction site with the compositional quality of commercial photography.

When the project reached its next milestone, we returned to document the roof lift day.

Using coordinated drone flights and ground cameras, we captured the controlled choreography between crane operators and site teams.

These visuals are not only a record of progress but also a powerful marketing tool showing scale, safety, and teamwork.

Customer testimonial

“Some truly great photographs there. Well done. Never seen such nice pictures of a site. Kind Regards & thank you kindly for sharing these images. Greatly appreciated.”
Dave Wilson, Project Director, CHAP Construction

The Craighill documentation also formed part of a wider visual narrative.

This film showcases the complete journey of the Eurocell InSite system, from precision manufacturing to on-site installation.

Filmed by aberdeenphoto.com, it follows the process of using the Insite system through the workshops of Pinefield Glass, Kirkwood Timber Frame, and Places for People in Inverness, capturing every stage of this innovative off-site construction method.

Results and Reflections

Both projects demonstrate how professional construction photography turns ordinary documentation into valuable visual storytelling.

At aberdeenphoto.com, we treat every assignment—whether a high-end property or an active building site—with the same attention to light, composition, and accuracy.

Our aerial and ground coverage helps clients showcase professionalism, transparency, and progress, providing assets that can be used across marketing, reporting, and stakeholder communications.

Through precision, timing, and creative direction, these two Kirkwood Timber Frame projects exemplify our belief that great photography doesn’t just record — it elevates.
