Wedding of Craig and Gemma Spence on July 6th, 2019

Saturday 6th July was the wedding day for Gemma and Craig. All Gemma’s planning ensured a great day for all 170+ day guests, and another 80+ at the reception. David started the photography at the Marcliffe with shots of Gemma and her bridesmaids, while Neil and Sandra were at Kings College to photograph Craig, the best men, ushers, and all the guests. Gemma arrived with her Dad, David, in a beautiful Rolls Royce Phantom driven by Elliot Kinch, a guest at the wedding.

Gemma looked stunning and both David (from a reserved seat at the front) and Neil (from the balcony) photographed her entrance and the service. Neil photographed the signing of the register, and the couple coming up the aisle, and was at the door ready to get the photographs with the Minister (Scott Rennie) and the Sacrist.

After the service, we photographed some of the family at Kings College, before getting shots of the couple at the iconic Kings College. While Neil posed and arranged the family, David was capturing some candids.

The couple were driven back to the Marcliffe by Elliot, and we gathered the family and bridal party for more shots at the beautiful Marcliffe Hotel. As Craig’s father, Stewart Spence, is the well known proprietor of this hotel, Neil included images featuring the hotel.

Although Neil has a lot of experience (42 years), it was still stressful ensuring that the photography was finished on time (the hotel needed us to be punctual), and meeting the standards expected. It was very windy but Sandra did a great job setting the dress and veil, and you can see from Gem’s email that this as recognised and appreciated. Stewart’s partner, Doreen was a wedding photographer and Neil worked with Doreen from 1977- 1980 at Martin Johnston so she, more than most,  appreciated that he had a tough job on Saturday.

After the speeches, we all had the wedding meal, which was, as always, superb. Sandra and Neil then went home and changed and came back as guests in the evening, while David photographed the first dance, and the party.

Neil has worked with Gem (photographing events, and the new born portrait of Aidan), the Spence family, and also photographed Doreen son’s wedding, so knowing the family, and a lot of the guests helped on Saturday. Neil photographed Stewart’s 70th birthday, and has done many many functions at the Marcliffe over the years.

“Thank you so much for Saturday. Honestly the photos are stunning.
Sandra did amazing. Honestly she was my saving grace. My veil, dress, she honestly was a goddess!!!! Words can’t even express how grateful I am to both of you.”

I was not at the BNI meeting this week but my sub, Lynne featured this wedding in the 60 second presentation and used the sample images on the A3 print below

BNI WORKS

Last year the members of BNI Scotland North reported income in excess of £15.4 million in new business!

Globally, the 227,000 members of BNI passed over 9.8 million referrals which resulted in more than $13.6 billion in business.

One element of the meeting is that each member has 60 seconds to let the other members and visitors know about their business, and ask for a specific referral. Every week, I show one recent job, or a selection of the work done the week before.
