Clan Thunderball 2019

The Clan fundraising dinner this year had a James Bond theme and the room at the new Teka Exhibition centre looked stunning.

The evening was a huge success and was a sell-out with 440 people attending. I regularly support Clan and was happy to give my time to record the event. I arranged the photography with Ruth McIntosh, who is on the top table with me at BNI as the Vice President.

During the event, the family took to the stage to thank CLAN, and daughter Megan, 21, a theatre and drama student, sang ‘Diamonds are Forever’ for the audience. The guests were also shown a video which gave the family the opportunity to explain their story and how CLAN has supported them, and to encourage other people to seek help.

I photographed guests arriving, and some of the sponsors tables. I joined the EyeCandy table for dinner and the food was excellent. Adrian George, a fellow BNI member, had supplied all the banners, pull-ups, programmes, and the invitations.

The entertainment was fantastic. Alex Fleming, the MC and auctioneer was very funny and dod a great job with the auction. The star of the evening was Megan McKenzie, Jackie’s daughter, who got a standing ovation for her amazing performance of Diamonds are Forever.  After dinner, the band Waterfront had everyone on the dance floor, and it was a great atmosphere. More importantly the event raised £60 000 for Clan.

I finished at the ball just before 1am, and after downloading the files finished at 3am. Lukas and I worked on the 650 files on the Sunday and had the gallery on-line on Sunday afternoon. We also supplied images to the Evening Express and you can see their on-line story here.

At BNI on Tuesday, I featured a selection of the photographs during my 60s presentation. I also prepared an A3 print for Eyecandy and Adrian spoke about the material he produced for the event.

BNI WORKS

Last year the members of BNI Scotland North reported income in excess of £15.4 million in new business!

Globally, the 227,000 members of BNI passed over 9.8 million referrals which resulted in more than $13.6 billion in business.

One element of the meeting is that each member has 60 seconds to let the other members and visitors know about their business, and ask for a specific referral. Every week, I show one recent job, or a selection of the work done the week before.
