USA Passport Visa & Green Card Photograph Requirements

- Should be looking directly into the camera, front facing. No hats or masks, religious headgear is allowed, but should properly show the face.

Indian Passport / Visa / ID / OCI
- The Indian Visa Photograph should be in color and of the size of 2 inch x 2 inch (50 mm x 50 mm).
- Photo needs to presents full head from top of hair to bottom of chin; height of head should measure 1 inch to 1-3/8 inches (28 mm to 35 mm). Eye height is between 1- 1/8 inches to 1-3.
- The photo-print should be clear and with a continuous-tone quality.
- It should have full face, front view, eyes open.
- Photo should present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin.
- Center head within frame.
- The background should be a plain light coloured background.
- There should not be any distracting shadows on the face or on the background.
- Head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons, but the facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of the face must be clearly shown.
- The expression on the face should look natural.
Canadian Passport / Visa
- Height x Width 50x70mm
- Head Size 31-36mm
- Taken with a neutral facial expression, mouth closed and no smiling allowed
- Plain white or light-coloured background with a clear difference between your face and the background. Photos must reflect/represent natural skin tone
- Glasses are allowed but must have no reflection or cover the eyes.
- Must be taken within the last six months
- Photographs must be printed on photographic quality paper.
- The face must be square to the camera with a neutral expression, neither frowning nor smiling, with the mouth closed.
- Name and complete address of the photo studio and the date the photo was taken, must be on the back of one of the images. The photographer may use a stamp or handwrite this information. Stick-on labels are unacceptable.
Australian Passport / Visa
- Height x Width 45x35mm.
- Head Size 32-36mm from top of head to bottom of chin, not including the hair.
- Glasses are not allowed in passport photos taken from 1 July 2018.
- Background should be plain white/off white with no shadows.
- Should be looking directly into the camera, front facing. No hats or masks is allowed. Religious headgear is allowed, but should properly show the face.
- It should show your head and top of shoulders close up.
- Image resolution 150 dpi.
- File size should be less than 5MB.
New Zealand Passport / Visa
New Zealand Passport Photograph Requirements
- Height x Width 45x35mm
- Head Size 32-36mm from top of head to bottom of chin, not including the hair
- Photo must be less than six months old
- Background to be plain and light, but not white
- Must have a strong contrast between the image and background, with no shadows
- No sunglasses or glasses with tinted lenses, we recommend you remove your glasses for the shoot.
- No head covering or headband should be worn, unless it’s for religious or medical reasons
- New Zealand passports photographs of babies must be photographed on their own with no toys or dummies. Their eyes must be open.

Netherlands Passport Photograph Requirements

- Dutch passports photographs of babies must be photographed on their own with no toys or dummies. Their eyes must be open.
- Dimensions for babies have a different head size, top of head to chin can be 19-30mm and ear to ear is the same 16-20mm.
German Passport / Visa
- Height x Width 45x35mm.
- Head Size 32-36mm.
- The photo must clearly show the person’s facial features from the bottom of the chin to the crown, as well as the left and right sides of the face. The face must take up 70 – 80% of the photo. This corresponds to a height of 32 – 36mm.
- Because it is often difficult to determine where the top of the head would be without hair, photos should be rejected only if the face measures less than 27mm or more than 40mm.
- In the case of voluminous hairstyles, the entire head (including hair) must be visible without reducing the size of the face, if possible. The face must be centred in the photo.
- Should be looking directly into the camera, front facing. No hats or masks, religious headgear is allowed, but should properly show the face.
- Glasses are allowed but no reflection or glare from on the lenses is allowed. The eyes must be clearly visible.
- Background should be plain white/off white with no shadows.
- Photographs should provide a full frontal view of the head, neck and top of the shoulders with ears, as much as possible, clearly visible. Exposed shoulders and chest are to be avoided.
- When the photograph is cut to a size, there should be a margin of 3mm to 4mm between the head and the edge of the photograph.
- Babies under 1 year can have their eyes closed.
