Fiona and Craig at Norwood Hall

On Friday (18th May, 2018), Fiona and Craig got married at Norwood Hall hotel and I was delighted to be photographing the wedding on a beautiful sunny day at a great venue.

Fiona chose not to have the bridal preparations photographed and I started by photographing the room set up for the service, and then met Craig and his brother, Brian, who was best man. I then photographed all the guests before the service. The example here is Craig’s daughter, Megan, in Norwegian national costume with her partner, Johan. As well as the posed shots, I also got some candid images of the guests in the garden and bar before the service.

Then it was time for Fiona and her daughter Kendall to be photographed on the staircase. They both looked stunning, and Fiona’s dress from Ivory Grace in Aberdeen was very much admired by everyone and Kendall’s dress from Perfect Bridal was very elegant. The flowers from XOXO in Peterculter completed the very classy look.

Laura Cradock, the celebrant greeted them and the guests were all upstanding for Fiona and Kendall to walk down the aisle to the Proclaimers – “Let’s get Married” After a very nice service, the Bride and Groom walked up the aisle to “All you need is love”

We then got the family groups done quite quickly, and a friend of Fiona’s had masks to celebrate the royal wedding taking place the following day so Fiona, Craig, and Craig’s Mum wore the masks.

When I was setting up the kilt group, I joked that Kendall’s partner, Mark should lie in front of everyone, and he did!

Finishing the posed shots quickly allowed the couple time to mingle with their guests during the drinks reception in both the bar and the garden at Norwood. The masks made another appearance, and there was a lot of laughter and a great atmosphere.

The Pitfodels suite looked amazing, and one of the best things for me was the material and lights over the windows behind the top table giving me a great background rather than the windows and car park. The suite at Norwood Hall is always beautifully presented and Fiona has said that the team at Norwood arranged all the room decor and seat covers.

I finished with candid informal photography during the speeches.
