In December I was asked by Harper UK to photograph a large Grillage that they had built. It was boked at very short notice, as the collection of it from their Colpy facility might have been happening the following day. The problem was that the weather was horrendous with very heavy rain. We decided to wait to see if the weather was going to improve. While waiting I took some shots of the workshop and the Harper UK team at work.

The weather did not approve so I took the shots in the heavy rain. Fortunately, I have weather sealed cameras and I could take but even with continually cleaning the lens, it was a struggle to be able to focus.

Once I had the images, we used Photoshop to remove some of the distractions including the puddles, but this did not really show the steelwork effectively, so we created a cut-out. This was an intricate time-consuming job cutting out between all the grills.

It was not picked up on Friday so i went back on Sunday and took it again on a nicer day but the sides had been removed, and it was still very muddy so we had to the same re-touching.

BNI WORKS

I featured this shoot at BNI.

Last year the members of BNI Scotland North reported income in excess of £15.4 million in new business!

Globally, the 227,000 members of BNI passed over 9.8 million referrals which resulted in more than $13.6 billion in business.

One element of the meeting is that each member has 60 seconds to let the other members and visitors know about their business, and ask for a specific referral. Every week, I show one recent job, or a selection of the work done the week before.

You can see the content I have used at BNI over the last two years here
