Hogmanay at The Marcliffe

This year I intended taking a break over the festive period but had a few portraits booked by families that had extended family in Aberdeen for the holidays. On Monday 30th, I photographed a family at Crieff Hydro, and I had portraits booked for the 3rd January. On Hogmanay day, I got a phone call from Doreen at the Marcliffe Hotel for a short notice booking to photograph guests arriving for the Hogmanay Gala Ball.

I work at the Marcliffe regularly but I have also taken a lot of photographs for the Spence family including Stuart’s 70th, and his son, Craig’s wedding recently. Having attended the hogmanay ball as a guest several times, I have always joked that I was happy not to have that booking. However for 2019 I was there for 6pm to set up for arrivals starting at 6.30pm.

I got everyone photographed including the amazing entertainers, The London Essentials (with partners).

I photographed Stuart and some of the team who had a long evening of hard work in front of them.

All the prints were delivered on the 3rd to be posted to all the guests. Doreen and Stewart were very grateful that I managed to step in but were also very happy with the photography and prints, and have already asked if I am available for Hogmanay 2020.
